Kazakhstan's Strategic Embrace of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education

Kazakhstan has mandated the inclusion of artificial intelligence (AI) as a compulsory discipline across all 93 universities in the country. This initiative, announced by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Gulzat Kobenova, aims to enhance the educational framework and align Kazakhstan with leading nations in AI adoption, including China, Finland, and the United States. Starting in the new academic year, the Aisana project will be integrated into university curricula, providing students with practical experience in AI technologies. To date, approximately 390,000 students have completed AI courses, with 3,000 receiving official certifications.
