West Virginia University Golf Team Sets New School Records
The West Virginia University (WVU) golf team made a significant impact on the opening day of the fall season at the Island Resort Collegiate, held at Sage Run Golf Club in Bark River, Michigan. The Mountaineers achieved a school record by shooting 22-under-par with a total score of 266, surpassing the previous record of 271. Sophomore golfer, Leach, tied the school record for the lowest round in relation to par at -9, finishing the first round with a score of 63. This performance places him in first place in the tournament, five shots ahead of the nearest competitors.

University of Lynchburg Women's Golf Team Opens Season
The University of Lynchburg women's golf team began their fall season at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational, hosted by Denison University. The Hornets finished sixth out of 13 teams, with a total score of 643. Randolph-Macon took first place with 599 strokes. Lynchburg's standout performer was a player who tied for fifth individually with a score of +8.
The Hornets will take a brief hiatus before returning to competition at the Williams Invitational in late September.
St. Olaf College Men's Golf Team Achieves Top-Three Finish
The St. Olaf College men's golf team also opened their season at the Augsburg Fall Invite, finishing third in a nine-team field with a total score of 609.
