CommonSpirit Health Partners with Denver Summit FC for Training Facility

CommonSpirit Health has entered into a partnership with Denver Summit FC to fund the construction of the club's training facility, which will be named the CommonSpirit Performance Center. This facility is currently being built at the southeast corner of S. Potomac Street and E. Fremont Avenue in Centennial, Colorado, within the Cherry Creek School District. The Cherry Creek School District Board of Education approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in March, allowing Denver Summit FC to utilize the land. In exchange, the club will contribute $100,000 to the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation and provide educational presentations and internship opportunities for students.

The CommonSpirit Performance Center will span 20,000 square feet and serve as the centerpiece of a 43-acre campus that will include eight soccer fields and a temporary stadium with a capacity of 12,000 seats for the 2026 and 2027 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) seasons. Denver Summit FC is also planning a permanent stadium, Santa Fe Yards, which is expected to open in spring 2028.

As part of its commitment to community engagement, Denver Summit FC will allocate a portion of its revenue back to the greater Denver metro area through its 303 Community Fund. The initial donation from this fund includes $10,000 to Soccer Without Borders. Denver Summit FC President Jen Millet emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “The CommonSpirit Performance Center is part of our continued investment in our athletes, our club, and our community.”

In addition to the facility developments, Denver Summit FC recently appointed Nick Cushing as the club's first head coach. Cushing has a notable background, having previously served as interim head coach for Manchester City Women and as head coach for New York City FC in Major League Soccer (MLS). The club has also signed three players, including Colorado native Ally Watt, midfielder Lourdes Bosch from Melbourne City FC, and Spanish forward Nahikaria García.
