Peaky Blinders Returns with Two New Sequel Series

The beloved British crime drama "Peaky Blinders" is set to return with two new sequel series, ordered by Netflix and the BBC. Created by Steven Knight, the new installments will introduce a fresh generation of the Shelby family, continuing the saga in 1953 Britain, following the events of the upcoming film "The Immortal Man," which is currently in post-production. Each of the two seasons will consist of six hour-long episodes, filmed at Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham.

Cillian Murphy, who starred as Thomas Shelby in the original series, will serve as an executive producer for the new shows, alongside Knight. The production will also involve Karen Wilson and Martin Haines from Kudos, Jamie Glazebrook from Garrison Drama, Jo McClellan for the BBC, and Mona Qureshi and Toby Bentley for Netflix. Knight expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the ‘Peaky Blinders’ story. Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. "Peaky Blinders" originally premiered in 2013 and concluded its six-season run in 2022. The series gained immense popularity for its portrayal of the Shelby crime family in post-World War I Birmingham. Following the series finale, Knight hinted at the continuation of the story through a feature film, which is now set to bridge the gap to the new series.
