TCM Revises Equity

Twin Cities in Motion (TCM) revised its Equity in Motion program after legal challenges from the Upper Midwest Law Center (UMLC).
The original policy offered 50% discounts to participants from underrepresented communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals.
The updated program now grants discounts to anyone facing financial or life challenges, removing references to ethnicity and gender.
UMLC described the original policy as discriminatory and illegal and pledged to support rejected applicants.
Twin Cities Marathon Weekend events are ongoing and culminate with the marathon on Sunday.
