China's Shenzhou-21 Crewed Mission Preparations

In parallel, China is preparing for its Shenzhou-21 crewed mission, targeting the Tiangong space station. A joint drill at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on October 28 marked the final stages of preparation, covering all procedures from pre-launch checks to liftoff. The mission, utilizing a Long March-2F carrier rocket, is expected to launch on October 31, 2025, at 11:44 a.m. EDT, although the China Manned Space Agency has indicated that the launch will occur "at an appropriate time in the near future." This mission will transport three taikonauts to relieve the Shenzhou-20 crew currently aboard the Tiangong station.

Launch of Gaofen-14 Satellite

On October 25, China successfully launched its second Gaofen-14 Earth observation satellite, enhancing its capabilities in high-resolution mapping under the China High-resolution Earth Observation System (CHEOS). The Long March 3B rocket lifted off from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, placing the satellite into a sun-synchronous orbit. Gaofen-14 (02) is equipped with advanced instruments for 3D stereo imaging and hyperspectral imaging, supporting applications in urban planning, agriculture management, and disaster response.
