Mengistu Celebrates Sigd

Avera Mengistu, an Israeli man released from Hamas captivity, celebrated Sigd in Jerusalem on November 20, 2025.
This was his first Sigd since returning to Israel in February after a decade in captivity.
President Isaac Herzog attended and called Mengistu's return a national achievement and a testament to Israel's commitment.
He also urged pursuit of Haymanut Kasau, a missing Ethiopian Jewish girl, calling it a national duty to resolve.
