Brendan Fraser has expressed his disappointment regarding Warner Bros.' decision to shelve "Batgirl," a completed DC superhero film that featured Fraser as the villain Firefly alongside Leslie Grace as Batgirl. The film, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, was filmed in Scotland between November 2021 and March 2022 but was ultimately not released in August 2022 as part of a cost-cutting strategy by Warner Bros. Notably, no footage from the film has been publicly screened.
