YouTube Launches New Recap Feature for 2025

YouTube has introduced a new feature called YouTube Recap, which allows users to reflect on their video-watching habits over the past year. This feature, launched on December 2, 2025, is designed to provide a personalized experience similar to Spotify Wrapped, showcasing up to 12 cards that highlight users' top channels, interests, and the evolution of their viewing preferences. Users will also receive a personality type assignment based on their viewing habits, with categories such as "Skill Builder," "Sunshiner," "Trailblazer," "Wonder Seeker," "Connector," and "Dreamer."

The YouTube Recap is available for users in North America and will roll out globally within the week. Users can access their Recap on the YouTube homepage or under the “You” tab, and it is compatible with both mobile devices and desktop. In addition to video insights, the Recap will include statistics related to music listening, such as top artists and songs, although it does not replace the existing YouTube Music Recap, which offers a more detailed review of music preferences.

Other trending topics included popular shows and user-generated content, such as "Squid Game" and various Roblox experiences.
