Black Mandala Develops Animated Series from Cult Argentine Toy Franchise

New Zealand-based sales outfit Black Mandala has secured the rights to develop an animated series and action figure line based on the cult Argentine superhero toy franchise “Guerreros del Manana” (Warriors of Tomorrow). This franchise, which launched in the 1980s, has gained a dedicated following and evolved into highly sought-after collectibles over the past four decades. The deal was finalized during the Ventana Sur film market and involves Guillermo Zanocco, the original creator of the toy line, and filmmaker Nicolás Onetti, who will direct the animated series.

The animation project has assembled a notable creative team, including Aníbal Morales as animation director, Luciano Onetti composing the score, and Germán Suracce handling sound design. Artist Martín Cardozo is tasked with creating a new line of collectible sculptures. The teaser for the series will feature voice-over work by veteran voice actor Ricardo Alanis, recognized for his roles in Spanish-language dubbing for films featuring Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme, as well as the “Power Rangers” franchise.
