Argentina Receives First Six F-16s from Denmark

Argentina is set to receive its first six Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcons, acquired from Denmark, with the aircraft expected to arrive at Rio Cuarto air base on December 5, 2025. The F-16s departed from Skrydstrup Air Base in Denmark on November 28, beginning a weeklong ferry operation that included a stop in Zaragoza, Spain. This acquisition is part of a larger deal involving 24 F-16s, with the remaining 18 scheduled for delivery through the end of 2027. The U.S. government approved a $941 million export package that includes 36 RTX AIM-120C-8 missiles and 102 500-lb. Mk-82 bombs.

The F-16s have a ferry range of approximately 2,000 miles, which can be extended with drop tanks. Argentina is reportedly in discussions to acquire two older KC-135R tankers to support its new fleet.
