Trump's Security Strategy

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told the Reagan National Defense Forum that U.S. President Donald Trump plans a National Security Strategy to reassert Western Hemisphere dominance.
He framed the Monroe Doctrine as stronger than ever under the Trump Corollary and said the strategy would deny adversaries access to U.S. interests.

Hegseth Authorizes Strike

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said he personally authorized the September 2 strike on a suspected drug-smuggling vessel off Venezuela, viewed from the Pentagon.
Hegseth said the operation was part of more than 20 strikes against cartel-linked networks.
He rejected claims he ordered killing everyone on board, calling such reports patently ridiculous.
He praised U.S. President Donald Trump as a proponent of "peace through strength" and noted a morale revival.
