U.S. President Donald Trump announced five contracts totaling $3.3 billion to advance Smart Wall along the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas and Arizona.
Total spending has reached $8 billion, with 1,418 miles of primary barriers, 536 miles of a waterborne barrier, and 708 miles of secondary barriers.
Five contracts will add 97 miles of primary wall, 19 miles of secondary wall, and 66 miles of waterborne barriers.
