China's Ministry of Commerce condemned EU investigations into Chinese companies as discriminatory, criticizing Foreign Subsidies Regulation probes targeting Nuctech and China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC).
The ministry said these investigations undermine Chinese investments in Europe and estimated losses of €2.1 billion (US$2.46 billion) for Chinese firms.
It cited insufficient evidence and lack of transparency in EU enforcement, noting these problems have worsened in recent months.

He Yadong Warns Protectionism

He Yadong, spokesman for China's Ministry of Commerce, warned that protectionism could rise after French President Emmanuel Macron's call to rebalance economic ties.
He highlighted that the EU has launched 12 trade remedy probes and three foreign subsidy investigations against Chinese firms this year.
He urged the EU to uphold China-EU leaders' commitments and foster a fair environment for Chinese firms in Europe, to deter protectionism.
