Vikrant Thakur, 42, has been charged with murder after the death of a 36-year-old woman in Northfield, Adelaide.
Emergency services responded to a domestic assault report on Sunday night, but the woman could not be revived despite CPR.
Thakur appeared in court and will remain in custody until at least April 2026 because prosecutors requested a 16-week adjournment to gather evidence including a post-mortem report and DNA results.
