For nearly two years, from 2019 to 2021, Colonel Mazen Ismander oversaw the logistics of transporting corpses from the original mass grave in Qutayfah to Dhumair. Trucks were used to move both bodies and soil, filling trenches at the Dhumair site. The operation was conducted under the pretext of maintaining secrecy as Assad sought to reclaim legitimacy in the international community amid ongoing allegations of brutality.
