Coaching Changes Following ALDS Elimination

He will be tasked with improving Volpe's defensive performance, which has declined since his Gold Glove-winning rookie season in 2023, as well as enhancing the team's overall baserunning, which has faced criticism from owner Hal Steinbrenner.
Support Structure for New Coaches
To assist Fiorito, Ryan Hunt will serve in an advisory role, bringing his experience as a minor league infield and outfield coordinator. Boone expressed optimism about Hunt's contributions, stating, “I’m excited about Ryan Hunt and what he’s going to bring in kind of overseeing it all.” The Yankees are aiming to strike a balance between aggressive baserunning and making calculated risks, a strategy that Boone believes will capitalize on the team's athleticism.
