Analysis of DOGE's Impact on Federal Spending

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) reported making over 29,000 cuts to the federal government, which included slashing billion-dollar contracts, canceling thousands of grants, and reducing the number of civil servants. Despite these claims, DOGE did not achieve its goal of reducing federal spending by $1 trillion before October 2025. In fact, federal spending increased during this period, raising questions about the accuracy of DOGE's reported savings.
