Sir Anthony Hopkins Acquires Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's Former Estate

Sir Anthony Hopkins has purchased the former Los Angeles residence of actors Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell for $13 million. The 88-year-old Oscar-winning actor acquired the property from real estate developers Bob and Margie Champion. This acquisition follows the loss of Hopkins' previous home in the Palisades during a wildfire in January 2025. The newly acquired estate, also located in the Palisades, spans nearly 6,400 square feet and includes five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

The residence is noted for its classic Los Angeles architecture and privacy, appealing characteristics for buyers in the area. Key features of the home include a vine-covered entry, formal living and dining rooms with hardwood floors, crown moldings, multiple fireplaces, a temperature-controlled wine tasting room, and a chef’s kitchen. Hawn and Russell originally purchased the property in 2004 for $4.124 million and sold it in 2017 to the Champion family for $6.9 million.

Hopkins has a history of favoring established homes in quiet settings over newly built or highly publicized estates. His previous properties include a Malibu residence that narrowly escaped destruction during the 2018 Woolsey Fire. In recent years, he has maintained a low profile outside of his professional endeavors, with his memoir, “We Did Ok, Kid,” released in November 2025, detailing his battle with addiction. He celebrated 50 years of sobriety this year.

The sale was facilitated by Josh Flagg, a star of “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles,” who represented the sellers. Flagg did not provide comments regarding the transaction.
