Fatal Alligator Attack in Florida: The Incident and Its Aftermath

On May 6, 2022, Cynthia Diekema, a 61-year-old woman from Davenport, Florida, was canoeing with her husband in Tiger Creek near Lake Kissimmee when they encountered an 11-foot, 4-inch alligator. The couple had previously seen multiple alligators during their outing. As they canoed over the alligator, it became startled, leading to a violent reaction.
