Menemsha Films Acquires U.S. Rights to "The Pianist’s Choice"

Menemsha Films has secured the U.S. distribution rights for "The Pianist’s Choice," a romantic drama set during World War II, written and directed by Jacques Otmezguine. The film features Oscar Lesage in the lead role as François Touraine, a talented pianist who is compelled to perform for Nazi officials in Germany to save the Jewish woman who introduced him to music. Upon returning to France, having lost everything, Touraine encounters a young woman who aids him in rebuilding his life and reconnecting with his passion for music.

The film showcases a notable cast, including César winners Philippe Torreton and Laurence Côte, alongside emerging talents Pia Lagrange and Zoé Adjani-Vallat. Produced by Nelly Kafsky through Mazel Productions, "The Pianist’s Choice" is poised for release later this year. Menemsha Films CEO Neil Friedman praised the film, stating, “Its relevance today makes it all the more powerful. The acquisition of "The Pianist’s Choice" was part of a series of deals finalized at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris. Paris-based sales company Loco Films facilitated the agreement, which also includes sales to K Films Amérique in Canada, Moving Story Entertainment in Australia/New Zealand, and Red Cape in Israel. Additional negotiations are ongoing for distribution in Spain, Italy, and Poland.
