Noem Appoints Wall

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on January 15, 2026, that Charles Wall will be the new deputy director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Wall will replace outgoing Deputy Director Madison Sheahan, who is leaving ICE to run for Congress.
Wall previously served as ICE's principal legal adviser and began his ICE career as an assistant chief counsel in Louisiana in 2012.
