James Tynion IV Expands Horror Universe with New Film Adaptations

Lyrical Media and James Tynion IV's Tiny Onion are collaborating to develop two horror films based on Tynion's works: an adaptation of his bestselling comic series *Exquisite Corpses* and a feature film based on his short film and one-shot comic, *Room Service*. Tynion, a five-time Eisner Award-winning writer known for titles such as *Something is Killing the Children* and *The Nice House on the Lake*, launched Tiny Onion in 2023 with support from Lyrical Media, which is also behind upcoming A24 films like *The Death of Robin Hood*.

*Exquisite Corpses* centers on a deadly game played every five years on Halloween, where wealthy families unleash twelve dangerous killers on an unsuspecting town. The comic series, co-created with artist Michael Walsh, has sold over 500,000 copies, marking Tynion's best debut in three years. A companion trading card game, *Exquisite Corpses: The Game*, is also in development.

Tynion will produce *Exquisite Corpses* for Tiny Onion, alongside Alexander Black and Arlen Konopaki from Lyrical Media. Michael Walsh and Jon Rosenberg from Lyrical will serve as executive producers. The *Room Service* film, which originated as a Kickstarter-funded short, will see Tynion co-write the script with director PK Colinet.

In addition to these projects, Tynion's *Something is Killing the Children* has been optioned by Blumhouse Productions for both film and animated series adaptations, with Tynion attached as a producer. Tiny Onion has also announced an animation slate that includes adaptations of Tynion's *W0rldtr33* at Netflix and *The Woods* from Boom! Studios, as well as an original adult animated comedy titled *Tipsy Dragon*.
