GSPCA Rescues Seal

The Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) has rescued its fifth seal pup in under five weeks, Icicle.
Icicle was found near Fairy Ring, Guernsey.
She weighed about 20 kg, half her ideal weight, and was in poor condition.
Storm Goretti likely separated her from her mother.
The GSPCA expects more rescues as the seal pup season progresses amid ongoing stormy weather.

Postman Rescues Seal

A seal pup named Cold Call, 1–2 weeks old and weighing 11.8 kg, was rescued in Gorleston, Norfolk on January 2 by a postman.
It was taken to the RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre for rehabilitation, where storms have increased orphaned pups and the centre houses 31 other baby grey seals.
Dan Goldsmith of Marine and Wildlife Rescue said Cold Call was bright and alert but needed care before returning to the wild.
