Murder Arrests Made

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested Amen Mathis, 38, and Gregory Woods, 60, for Kenneth Lockhart's murder after Christmas Eve surveillance.
Mathis was apprehended on Christmas morning and Woods was arrested on January 28.
In Savannah, Roberiquis Maxwell, 25, linked to Crips, and Ashton Kohl Johnson, 19, face trial for robbing and killing Devin Smith in July 2023.
The judge denied the prosecution's request to add gang evidence in the Savannah case.

Aquarium Burglary Arrests

Derrick Lee Vivian and Christopher Jeffrey Smith were arrested for burglary and illegal fishing at the Florida Keys Aquarium, posing with a large tarpon, and returning it to the lagoon where it died.
Bond for both defendants was set at $27,000.
Separately, a federal lawsuit was filed against the U.S. government over a military airstrike that killed two Trinidadian men, claiming the strikes were unlawful and lacked justification.
