MACC Targets E-Waste

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Kuala Lumpur has frozen two bank accounts totaling RM1 million and seized RM170,000 in cash in an electronic waste probe.
The probe began January 19 and targets the Environment Department's director-general, deputy director-general, an assistant officer, and a civilian for abuse related to illegal waste disposal.
MACC Act 2009, Section 16, governs the investigation.
Previously, authorities seized 16 bank accounts totaling RM10.2 million.
