Kia EV2 Excels in Cold-Weather Range Testing

The Kia EV2 prototype has demonstrated impressive performance in cold-weather conditions during the 2026 El Prix Winter Test, an event organized by the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF) and Motor Magazine. This test, regarded as one of the most rigorous for electric vehicles (EVs), involved 24 models competing under extreme temperatures, with the Kia EV2 achieving a driving range of 310.6 km (193 miles) despite conditions as frigid as -31°C (-23.8°F). The average shortfall across all tested vehicles was approximately 33%, with the Lucid Air recording the largest drop at 45.8%. The Kia EV2 is designed to be the smallest and most affordable model in Kia's electric lineup, measuring 4,060 mm (160 inches) in length. It is expected to be available with a 42.2 kWh standard range battery and a 61 kWh long-range battery, with production taking place at Kia AutoLand Slovakia in Žilina.
