Agape Garden, a social enterprise in Hong Kong dedicated to serving underprivileged residents, has encountered significant setbacks due to a technical error in the tendering process managed by the Housing Authority. The restaurant, which was forced to close in July 2022 following a government decision to reclaim its space, submitted a tender for a new shop location in Shek Kip Mei Estate in November 2022. However, the Housing Authority canceled the tender exercise in December 2022 after discovering an error in the power supply specifications provided to bidders. This cancellation occurred despite the collection of a HK$25,000 (approximately US$3,200) deposit from the participants.
