Samantha DiMarco, widely known as Sam the Popcorn Girl, has announced that she will not be selling concessions at Citizens Bank Park for much of the upcoming MLB season. The 30-year-old vendor, who gained fame for her unique ability to balance popcorn tubs on her head and her engaging social media presence, will instead embark on a new role with Carnival Cruise Line. She emphasized her passion for travel and cultural exchange, stating, “Just meeting new people and traveling are two of my favorite things to do.” Although she did not disclose specific details about her new role or the cruise ship, she hinted that her experience in customer service would be beneficial in her upcoming position.

However, she specifically noted her disappointment in missing the MLB All-Star Game scheduled for July, a long-awaited event she had hoped to attend as a fan. “I was so looking forward to it, and now I’m very sad to miss that,” she remarked.

Despite her temporary departure, DiMarco reassured fans that this is not a farewell but rather a “see you later.” Her contract with Carnival Cruise Line ends in August, allowing her to return to Citizens Bank Park for the last home game against the Florida Marlins on August 19. She expressed her determination to remain a dedicated Phillies fan, stating, “No matter where I am in the world, I will still be a Phillies fan, and I will always try and come back.”
