The FDA discovered the elevated patulin levels during routine testing as part of its Total Diet Study, which monitors food contaminants.
Patulin exposure can lead to various health issues, including nausea, headaches, and potential immune suppression. Initiative Foods has stated that no illnesses or injuries have been reported related to this recall. Consumers are advised to check for the lot number 07174 and a best-by date of July 17, 2026, on the packaging.
