Mistral AI Acquires Koyeb to Enhance Cloud Infrastructure

Mistral AI, a French company valued at $13.8 billion, has made its first acquisition by purchasing Koyeb, a Paris-based startup specializing in simplifying AI application deployment and managing the underlying infrastructure. This acquisition aligns with Mistral's strategy to expand its capabilities beyond developing large language models (LLMs) to becoming a comprehensive player in the AI cloud infrastructure market. Founded in 2020 by former employees of Scaleway, Koyeb has developed a serverless platform that allows developers to process data without managing server infrastructure, a service that has gained traction as AI demands have increased.
