New Music and Album Release

Sunn O))) has unveiled their new single "Butch's Guns," which is part of their self-titled album set to release on April 3, 2026, via Sub Pop. This marks the band's first album in six years, following their previous studio LPs, *Life Metal* and *Pyroclasts*, released in 2019. The single follows the earlier release of "Glory" and showcases the duo's signature drone-metal sound, characterized by thick, sludgy textures that push the boundaries of heaviness.

The album was recorded at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington, with producer Brad Wood. The natural surroundings of the studio influenced the music, allowing the band to explore new creative avenues. "There was no stress, no worry about the timeline. We just let ourselves go," said guitarist Stephen O'Malley, emphasizing the collaborative spirit of the album, which features only O'Malley and bassist Greg Anderson.
