This conviction arose from an arrest in 2014, when state troopers discovered 6.6 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop. The Canadian government’s letter indicated that had the crime occurred in Canada, it would carry a maximum imprisonment term of at least 10 years.
