Chinese Tourists Shift Focus from Japan to Thailand Amid Geopolitical Tensions

During the recent Lunar New Year holiday, Thailand emerged as the leading destination for Chinese tourists, while Japan experienced a significant decline in arrivals. This shift is attributed to ongoing political tensions between China and Japan, particularly regarding Taiwan. From February 15 to 23, approximately 250,000 Chinese tourists visited Thailand, marking a 60,000 increase from the previous year, according to the travel marketing firm China Trading Desk.
