Daniel Burman Appointed Head of Original Content for Disney+ Latin America

Disney+ has appointed Argentinian filmmaker Daniel Burman as the new Head of Original Content for Latin America, effective March 25. Burman will report to Eric Schrier, President of Disney Television Studios & Global Original Television Strategy, and work closely with Martín Iraola, President of The Walt Disney Company, LATAM. This appointment comes during a period of organizational change within Disney, following the death of Diego Lerner, the former President of Disney Latin America, in December. Burman’s role is seen as pivotal in leading creative development across markets, cultivating new talent, and integrating Latin American storytelling into Disney’s global portfolio.

Daniel Burman founded Oficina Burman in 2014, which produced “Edha,” Netflix’s first original series in Argentina. He sold the company to The Mediapro Studio in 2017. Additionally, Burman is a founding partner of BD Cine, one of Argentina’s most successful independent production companies, and has directed twelve feature films, including “Victoria Small” and “Yosi, the Regretful Spy.” His extensive experience in creating local content and positioning it for global success is expected to enhance Disney+’s offerings in Latin America.
