Trump Imposes Global Tariff

U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 10% global tariff under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 after the Supreme Court ruled against his emergency tariffs, which had reached 50%.
The tariff takes effect February 24, 2025, and will not apply to certain agricultural products.
Many imports, including steel and lumber, remain under existing tariffs as Trump pursues further industry tariffs on semiconductors and wind turbines, especially toward China.
