In 2025, the number of US nationals applying for British citizenship reached an unprecedented 8,790, marking a 42% increase from the previous record of 6,192 applications in 2024. This surge coincided with the first year of President Donald Trump’s second term, as reported by the Home Office. Notably, 2,490 applications were submitted in the final quarter of 2025 alone.
