Rabbi Schlanger, a Chabad emissary in Bondi Beach, was killed in an antisemitic terror attack on December 14, 2025, during a public menorah lighting event that resulted in the deaths of 15 individuals, including Schlanger.

Rabbi Eli Schlanger served as the assistant rabbi at Chabad of Bondi for 18 years, where he was known for his commitment to sharing the Seven Noahide Laws, a set of moral principles encouraged by the Lubavitcher Rebbe. His legacy has inspired numerous initiatives and good deeds in the community following his death. The book, which is set for publication on May 26, 2026, was developed from conversations recorded by Goldstein, who first met Schlanger in September 2022 while she was hospitalized with a severe infection. Schlanger's visit and prayers were credited with aiding her recovery, which Goldstein described as miraculous.
