Scouting America Aligns

Scouting America has agreed to modify its policies to retain military support from the Pentagon.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that membership will be determined by "biological sex at birth," excluding gender identity, in compliance with President Trump's executive order against diversity initiatives.
Scouting America, previously known as Boy Scouts of America, will continue to accept transgender youth while discontinuing its "Citizenship in Society" merit badge.
The organization will introduce a "Military Service" merit badge, with Pentagon support contingent on adherence to these changes over the next six months.
