Iranian Attacks Disrupt Dubai Tourism and Private Jet Market

Recent Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Dubai have led to significant disruptions in the emirate, particularly affecting its airport and tourist industry. The UAE defense ministry reported ongoing interceptions of incoming threats, prompting the closure of Dubai International Airport. This situation has forced many wealthy tourists to seek alternative routes for departure, primarily through private jets, as commercial flights remain heavily booked or canceled.

For instance, a flight to Istanbul is now priced at approximately €85,000 (£74,000), while seats on private charters to Moscow are going for about €20,000 per person. Ameerh Naran, CEO of Vimana Private Jets, indicated that flights from Riyadh to Europe have reached costs of up to $350,000. The surge in prices is attributed to limited aircraft availability and heightened insurance requirements for operators in the region.
