Despite the promising findings, Soemers cautioned against definitively claiming that the reconstructed rules represent the exact gameplay of the Romans. He noted that Ludii's programming could generate rules for any line pattern, meaning the specific version played in antiquity remains uncertain. Archaeologist Véronique Dasen from the University of Fribourg remarked on the groundbreaking nature of the research, suggesting it could lead to a reevaluation of other Roman-era artifacts that might also serve as game boards.
