XPRIZE Launches Global Film Competition to Inspire Optimistic Science Fiction

The XPRIZE Foundation has initiated a global film competition called the Future Vision XPRIZE, aimed at fostering a new wave of optimistic science fiction storytelling that envisions a technology-enabled future for humanity. This initiative, launched in partnership with Google and Range Media Partners through the 100 Zeros initiative, invites filmmakers and creators from around the world to submit three-minute trailers or short films that depict hopeful visions of tomorrow.

The competition offers substantial financial incentives for participants. The grand prize winner will receive $2.5 million in production funding to develop their concept into a feature film, alongside a cash prize of $100,000. Additionally, four finalists will each be awarded $100,000, with an anticipated $500,000 in further prizes to be announced later in the competition. Submissions for the competition will be accepted from March 9 until August 15, with finalists presenting their projects live at the Moonshot Gathering in Los Angeles on September 25. A panel of judges from various sectors, including entertainment, technology, and science, will select the grand prize winner.
