Oklahoma City is set to host the canoe slalom and softball competitions, with the majority of events taking place in Los Angeles. The proposed fund, known as the Olympics in Oklahoma Revolving Fund, will be managed by the state Department of Commerce. It is designed to cover essential infrastructure, warehouse, transportation needs, and the establishment of an athletic village.

Senator Thompson emphasized the significant economic potential of the Olympics for Oklahoma, projecting that the state could see over 500,000 visitors during the events. She noted that hotels in the vicinity are expected to reach full capacity, highlighting the opportunity for local businesses. “This is quite literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we should all be very, very excited about the impact this is going to have on every Oklahoma community,” Thompson stated.

The canoe slalom events will take place at Riversport, recognized as an official U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Site, while softball competitions are scheduled for Devon Park, which features four fields and is known for hosting the NCAA Women’s College World Series. These venues are expected to leverage existing infrastructure to accommodate the influx of visitors and participants.
