Pitbull's Wynwood Office Project Advances

Armando Christian Pérez, known as Pitbull, is moving forward with plans to construct an eight-story office building for his music label, Mr. 305 Records, on the site of his childhood home in Wynwood, Miami. The Wynwood Design Review Committee unanimously approved the design plans for the 11,211-square-foot building at 25 NE 28th St., which will replace a modest 720-square-foot home built in 1927. The site is owned by Un Melon en Wynwood LLC, an affiliate of Mr. 305 Records, and the home has been permitted for demolition.

The proposed building, designed by Deforma Studio, will feature an industrial-inspired exterior with murals that pay homage to Wynwood's history as a warehouse district known for its street art. The project is part of an urban infill strategy, utilizing a small lot that might otherwise be overlooked for development. Marc Coleman, director of development for Rilea Group, the developer collaborating with Pitbull, emphasized the importance of making effective use of limited space in urban areas.
