Royal Mail Announces Stamp Price Increases Amid Performance Concerns

Royal Mail has announced significant increases in stamp prices set to take effect on April 7, 2023. The cost of a first-class stamp will rise by 10p to £1.80, while second-class stamps will increase by 4p to 91p. This marks the eighth price rise for first-class stamps in six years, resulting in a total increase of 137%. Second-class stamps have also seen six price hikes during the same period. Money-saving expert Martin Lewis has advised consumers to purchase stamps before the price increase, noting that stamps without a monetary value remain valid even after price changes.
