Juliana Stratton Advocates for Ending the Filibuster in Senate Campaign

Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton (D) has expressed strong support for ending the filibuster in the U.S. Senate following her victory in the Democratic primary to succeed longtime Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.). During an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press NOW,” Stratton stated, “100 percent with the Senate potentially taking the majority, I would absolutely support that.” She highlighted the filibuster's role in obstructing key legislative efforts, including issues related to reproductive rights, gun control, and voting rights.
