Reports Highlight Deterioration of American Democracy Under Trump

Recent reports from three prominent organizations indicate a significant decline in American democracy since President Donald Trump's return to the White House. The V-Dem Institute, Bright Line Watch, and Freedom House have all documented alarming trends that suggest the U.S. is moving closer to autocracy.

The V-Dem Institute's annual report revealed that the United States' democracy ranking plummeted from 20th to 51st out of 179 countries, placing it between Slovakia and Greece.
