Nationwide Recall of Hazardous Products Sold on Amazon

3/24/2026, 12:59:04 AM

Overview of the Recall Events

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a nationwide recall of several consumer products sold on Amazon due to serious safety risks, including potential injuries from falls, burns, and lacerations. The recalls involve a range of items, including infant walkers, bicycle helmets, power steamers, and camping knives.

Specific Products Affected

Infant Walkers

One of the most critical recalls involves Goregent infant walkers, which were sold through the Goregent Official Store on Amazon. These walkers violate federal safety standards as they can fit through standard doorways and do not stop at the edge of steps, posing a severe risk of falls. Approximately 90 units were sold in January 2026 for about $90 each. Although no injuries have been reported, consumers are advised to stop using the walkers and contact the seller for a full refund. Customers must disassemble the walker, label it as "recalled," and email photographic proof to goregentInfantWalkersRecall@outlook.com for reimbursement.

Bicycle Helmets

The CPSC has also recalled Aisstxoer adult bicycle helmets sold by the YXTDZ Store on Amazon. These helmets failed to meet mandatory safety standards regarding impact protection and positional stability. Roughly 200 helmets, sold between October and November 2025 for around $25, are affected. Customers are instructed to stop using the helmets, destroy them by cutting off the straps, and submit proof of destruction to yxtdzamz@126.com to receive a full refund.

Power Steamers

Wagner Spray Tech is recalling approximately 700,000 Wagner 900 Series power steamers, sold for between $130 and $200 from November 2018 to March 2026. The CPSC reported that the steamers' hoses can overheat, and the nozzle may release hot water, leading to burn hazards. There have been at least 156 incidents reported, including over 50 burn injuries. Consumers are advised to stop using the steamers immediately and contact Wagner for a free repair kit to mitigate burn risks.

Camping Knives

Additionally, Amazon has issued a recall for its Amazon Basics Camping Folding Pocket Knife due to a defect in the folding mechanism that can cause the blade to open unexpectedly, creating a laceration hazard. About 2,840 knives were sold between August 2025 and February 2026 for approximately $30. While one incident has been reported, no injuries have been confirmed. Customers should stop using the knife and register the recall via Amazon to obtain a full refund.

Official Statements & Responses

The CPSC has emphasized the importance of consumer safety, urging individuals to cease using the recalled products immediately and follow the outlined procedures for refunds or repairs. The agency's announcements highlight the potential risks associated with these items and the necessity for prompt action from consumers.

Criticism & Opposition

While the CPSC's actions aim to protect consumers, some critics argue that the frequency of recalls raises concerns about the overall safety standards of products sold on platforms like Amazon. They suggest that more stringent oversight and quality control measures are needed to prevent such hazardous items from reaching consumers in the first place.

What's Next

As the recall process unfolds, consumers are encouraged to stay informed about further announcements from the CPSC and Amazon regarding additional safety measures or recalls. The ongoing monitoring of product safety will be crucial in preventing future incidents.
