Additionally, the recall includes 8,978 imported 5 Series vehicles produced from October 17, 2023, to April 8, 2025, 36,527 imported 7 Series cars manufactured between June 9, 2022, and April 3, 2025, and 173 M5 vehicles produced from July 4, 2024, to April 2, 2025. The issue arises from the front cabin air conditioning wiring harness, which may sustain damage during aftermarket air filter replacements, potentially leading to a short circuit and fire risk.
Manufacturer's Response
BMW has committed to inspecting and re-securing the air conditioning wiring harnesses for the affected vehicles at no cost to the owners. If any harness is found to be damaged, it will be replaced. Some vehicles that have already undergone repairs will not require further action.
