3/25/2026, 4:05:36 AM

Overview of the Tour

Willie Nelson has announced the 2026 Outlaw Music Festival Tour, which marks the event's return for its 11th year. The tour will kick off on July 3, 2026, at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas, and will conclude on August 30, 2026, at Albany Med Health System at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, New York. This year, the tour features a reduced schedule of 12 shows, significantly fewer than the 36 performances in 2025 and 26 in 2024.

Lineup and Performers

The festival will showcase a rotating lineup of artists, including The Avett Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Wilco, Lukas Nelson, Stephen Wilson Jr., Margo Price, Sierra Hull, Robert Randolph, Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble, and Lily Meola. Notably, Nelson's son, Lukas Nelson, will perform alongside him, and the only artist scheduled for all 12 shows is Willie Nelson himself.

The tour will also include Nelson's annual Fourth of July Picnic at Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin, Texas, featuring special guests Billy Strings and Rodney Crowell.

Official Statements

Willie Nelson expressed his enthusiasm for the tour, stating, “Being on the road and playing for the fans is what I love to do. We don’t get to do as many shows as we used to, so every night out there means a little more. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and making it a special time.” The festival's organizers emphasized that with fewer shows this year, each performance carries added significance, providing fans a rare opportunity to see a living legend alongside a diverse lineup of artists.

Criticism & Opposition

Some fans have noted disappointment over the reduced number of tour stops compared to previous years, particularly with the absence of Bob Dylan, who participated in the festival in 2024 and 2025. This change may require fans to travel further to attend the festival, as it will not visit as many cities as in past years.
